*Show Reviews* *March 23, 2002*
Let's just say A Day for Ashley was an incredible show. Spaceman Spiff ROCKED I think everyone's socks. I dont think I saw a bigger crowd around another band as I did around them. They really are a crowd pleaser. I think I loved when someone asked for "Hot Butt Naked Sex", and Chris replyed jokingly, "We played that last nite, you weren't there." He was referring to my party, which of course, the crowd loved it. (I want to thank you guys again for playing!) That weekend was a busy one for our Spacemen, but will not be last of their busyness. Chris is hoping to have a cd out in May, and they have numerous shows lined up. SmS fans left A Day for Ashley with smiles because our cd players finally got a taste of Spaceman Spiff. Their single "Dont You" was passed out for free that evening, and boy did they go quickly. Enjoy your singles! Hopefully a longer cd is coming soon!
~Although this is a review for SmS, I want to say to all of the bands (except one) that played A Day for Ashley, great job. Especially to Sweatergirl, we miss you guys and can't wait to see you at Warped Tour!~
*February 17, 2002*
On Feb.17 Spaceman Spiff put on an awesome show & really got the crowd going. We even had-for the first time I've ever seen it at an SmS show, crowd surfing. I dont think their were enough people to keep them up, but oh well. It was interesting! The crowd I think was one of the biggest I've seen in awhile. Although Maple Ave wasnt played sadly, they played an AWESOME set. The set included: "Dont You", "Cloudyhead", "Queen of the Stars", "Jake has VD", "When It Comes", "Sandbox", "Summer", & "Tiffany". Chris really got the crowd going, Noah blasted everyone away as usual with his jaw-dropping talent, Ben tour up the crowd with his lively act that gets the crowd roaring, Jake adds to that thing about bass players-that they look awesome when they're playing-plus, the guy's got major talent! And of course, what would we do without Joey?! Just watching the guy play the drums makes you wonder how the hell the he does it. I watch in amazement. All in all, it was a good nite. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, and for those of you who couldnt make it, be sure and look at the Shows page and come to the next show. Thanks to all of you who came out and supported SmS, they love you for it.
May 19, 2001 Wow! The guys played TWO incredible shows today!! First there was MusicFest '01 which started around 12. Heather was a little disapointed that the turn out wasn't better but oh wells. The Chunks, Bloodlines, No More Chances, Methal Orange, Green is Mean, King Django, Davis Street Band and SPACEMAN SPIFF played. All the bands were great but Spaceman, of course, topped them all! The set was incredible and many great comments were heard throughout the crowd during and after the show. " God! They're so much better! I can't believe they could improve THAT much in so little time! They rocked! They've always been good, but damn!"-Lauren Noland. So, MusicFest '01 was a great success nontheless!! Later that night Spaceman Spiff, being the sweethearts they are, agreed to play a birthday party of a fan and came by the house around 9 to play. They played an hour and 15 minute set too!! The band played most of their usual songs, plus a few new ones and graced us with covers like "unbelievable" & "feel like making love", and even tryed a little Weezer and Iron man for us.It was great! The crowd wasn't huge considering it was a small party and the band wasn't exspected to play but EVERYONE loved them, many of which had never even heard them before! So yesterday was a great day for all the fans and for Spaceman SPiff...I hope all of you got to enjoy the shows and if not, then hopefully you'll be at the show next week and you can rock out with us! LAter!
March 23, 24, 25- Spaceman played a bunch of shows this past weekend and all had great reviews! I heard much talk about how great the show at the Brass Monkey was...And thanx to all of you for coming out! Also, the Bluemoon Cafe show was a blast! Great attendance by all the fans and here is what Chris had to say!--"We played an awesome show last night in Shepardstown the place went crazy it was packed. I've never seen that before" Wow!! Thanx Guys!!!
March 2, 2001 Spaceman Spiff played a show at Boscos in New Market, Md. Personally, I was unable to attend <wipe a tear away> yet I heard that Spaceman played rather well. This show was the 2nd played with new guitarist Noah and the 1st played with new bassist Jake. From all the gossip I heard after the show Jake is a hit with the girlies and an extremely talented bass player as well. It was said that Spaceman ripped Davis Street Band apart...Not to my suprise. Stay tuned, can't wait to see everyone at the next show!
